The Last Laugh

Are you ready for a barrel of laughs, a laugh-a-minute play exploring the life and times of three legendary comics? You'll meet Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe and Bob Monkhouse, all comedy giants from the second half of the twentieth century. In London after a sell-out run at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a UK tour, The Last Laugh is a fresh new play reimagining the lives of the three heroes . Whether you remember the work of Eric, Tommy and Bob or not, you'll love the humour, the poignancy and the show's big heart, delivering a tasty slice of imaginative fun.

The action takes place in a dressing room, where the men tell stories, relive the laughs and re-tell the jokes that made them national treasures. The play is written and directed by the award-winning, multi-talented Paul Hendy. Reprising their acclaimed UK tour performances are Bob Golding (Tweenies) as Eric Morecambe, Damian Williams (Andy & The Band) as Tommy Cooper and Simon Cartwright (Howerd’s End) as Bob Monkhouse. The show is produced by Hendy's own Evolution Productions. Perfect for lovers of fine stage comedy, you'll want to get your laughing gear in order for this one!

Didn’t stop laughing!
Such a joyous and poignant show. Nostalgic but hilariously funny. Amazing acting and the length was perfect - nothing strained and no lecturing - just the gags

Funny and Nostalgic
A funny and nostalgic play about three comedy heroes from the late 20th century. The actors who played parts were excellent and had them off to a tee. The show is most suitable for the older generation who can remember the original characters.

Sad
Show started late If you enjoy the old jokes fine. The actors worked hard and did a good job.

Excellent story of the characters behind the laughs
Very funny, and occasionally sad insight into lives of 3 famous funny men.

Best for baby boomers?
Good characterisations / impressions. Enjoyable but material didn't always hit home. About 90mins no intermission. I think other venues have 2nd half Q&A but probably wouldn't work in this larger theatre.

Nostalgic and fun
If you're of a certain age and remember these 3 titans of comedy then this is very nostalgic and made wonderful by their perfect portrayal by the actors. 80 mins with no interval flies by with much laughter throughout.

The Last Laugh
The show and acting was fantastic, I would say though it would beneficial to know the 3 people in the play.

A. Wonderful piece for all
Was shocked about what the show was about I assumed it was a random comedy but it shows how comedy started with wonderful comedians and where comedy is now
