The Comedy About Spies

Whether or not you've seen one of theirs before, this show makes a blinding night out! The geniuses at Mischief Theatre are back with an uproarious new production, The Comedy About Spies, an action-packed affair full of cool stunts, priceless gags, physical comedy and hilarious routines, all telling a very tall tale indeed. Misunderstandings, miscommunication and mistaken identity take to the stage in a show tipped to be just as funny as the other plays and productions from this riotous team.

A comedy thriller set in 1960s London, it tells the story of a rogue British agent who has stolen the plans for a new top secret weapon. The CIA and KGB send their spies to meet in the Piccadilly Hotel, to see if they can find the mole and get the plans back. When three actors in town to audition for the title role in the first James Bond film arrive at the hotel, things soon get horribly confusing. It looks Mischief Theatre's Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields have gone and done it again, adding to their already excellent portfolio of laughs: The Play That Goes Wrong the TV series The Goes Wrong Show, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery, Magic Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Mind Mangler, and Mischief Movie Night. Expect a hilarious night out with a big feel-good factor.

Partly Restricted view seats are not worth buying as you can’t see a lot of the show. Fortunately a coupke didn't return for the 2nd half so we were able to move along and see more of the stage
Full of energy and great fun -

This show is so funny, with a great plot, lots of memorable moments. Lots of teens in the audience. We laughed so much.

Very funny, cleverly done. Brilliant!
We loved it. Actors are excellent, clever writing and props, great stuff. They got a well-deserved standing ovation 😁

Good show
Good show. Traditional British comedy getting its laughs from misunderstandings and a strong sense of the ridiculous. If you like that comedy style, and I do, you'll enjoy this show.

Cleave, witty, side-splittingly funny and very entertaining
The Comedy About Spies was a very cleavely writting, witty, very funny and extremely enteraining show. We laughed all the way through. The cast are increditable. Having seen The Play That Goes Wrong before we were not disappointed by this play. Loved every minute of it.

Laughs from start to end
The laughter started in the first minute of the show and kept going to the end. It is a very particular kind of humour – very slapstick and farcical but not crude. The set was very clever – I particularly liked the way that the bedrooms were done! The storyline isn’t particularly strong, but that’s not why you’d go to see the show
