Welcome to the latest iteration of A Streetcar Named Desire, theatre tickets for which will thrill you every step of the way. It has been nominated for several Oliviers, has attracted masses of critical acclaim, and is on at the Noel Coward Theatre for a limited three week run. The production has been 2023 Olivier-nominated for Best Revival, for Best Actress in a Play (Patsy Ferran), Best Actor in a Play (Paul Mescal), Best Supporting Actress in a Play (Anjana Vasan), Best Lighting Design, and Best Direction for Rebecca Frecknall. Mescal, Ferran and Vasan are all reprising their Olivier-nominated roles, as is Dwane Walcott whose ‘beautifully tender’ (Variety) role wowed audiences. The rest of the cast is to be announced.
This ‘heartstopping’ (The Telegraph) production by the brilliant director Rebecca Frecknall is designed to delight thanks to sterling work by the sound designer Peter Rice. The set designer is Madeleine Girling, costume designer Merle Hensel, and lighting designer Lee Curran. Julia Horen CDG is the casting director and Angus McRae is the composer. Grab theatre tickets for A Streetcar Named Desire before they go to enjoy a classic, heart-breaking collision between illusion and reality as Tennessee Williams’ frail heroine Blanche embarks on her turbulent and violent journey of change and loss.
